Apr. 29-Hello all. For those who have written and asked, yes we have had the ultrasound. Everything is fine but we still don't know the sex of the baby yet though. So hopefully we will with the next one, though it hasn't been scheduled yet. But I'll keep you informed. There's a new interview with me which has been posted on the Authorsden site. Amazon still doesn't have a picture of Escape up yet though it is up on Barnes & Noble.
Apr. 5-Sorry it's been so long since I've written anything here. My wife is now pregnant with our second child. The due date is Oct. 30 so we're definitely excited about that. We have an ultrasound scheduled in a couple weeks so hopefully we'll find out whether it's a boy or girl. In actual writing news, Escape is now available. It's $9.98 on Amazon and $8.98 on Barnes & Noble if you're a member.
Feb. 8-The Mason Files is now live on Amazon. It has it's own page and everything. Misconduct is now up as well although it's not live (meaning there's only a link to it through one of the other pages on there). I'd appreciate anyone who reads it and enjoys it to leave a comment. It might help others decide to buy it as well. Thanks for all your support.
Jan. 19-The Mason Files is now on Amazon. The only way to get it is to go to The Assassin page and there's a link for it there since it's not actually on the Shorts section yet. It usually goes live for a few days before being listed in the Shorts section. Hopefully Misconduct will be following in the next few days. My daughter's birthday was today, she turned 2. Anybody else get completely annoyed with the McDonald's commercial where the 2 guys are rapping about chicken nuggets? As soon as I see it on TV now I just change the channel because I cannot stand to listen to it. I just had to throw that out there.
Jan. 15-There was a new Western miniseries which debuted on TV Sunday called Comanche Moon. As most of you know I usually am happy when any new Western is made. I have to admit though that I was pretty disappointed with this movie. I actually only watched the first 45 minutes before turning it off. I found it pretty boring and unwatchable. That being said I still hope it gets good ratings so they'll make more Westerns...just better.
Jan. 13-Still waiting for Amazon to put the 2 new short stories up. I really thought they'd be up by now. I filled out a couple forms they asked for and haven't heard back from them yet. I don't really know what the hold up is unless they're just backed up which is possible. Soon as I get any more information I'll pass it along.
Dec. 30-Two more stories will be appearing on Amazon soon, one of which will be Misconduct. The other one will be the first in a series about a private detective. It is called The Mason Files: The Case Of The Wealthy Blonde. I am planning on writing about 10-12 stories in the series. So be on the lookout for them, of course I will always keep you up to date when I get a more definite time. They've both been approved, just waiting to hear when. My guess would be within the next week or two. Hope you all have a happy new year.
Dec. 23-A little bit of bad news to report as Escape has been delayed in the distribution process. As it stands right now I'm not entirely sure when it will be available. My best guess is another 6-8 weeks. When I have more news I'll be sure to let everyone know. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
Dec. 8-The Assassin is now available for the Amazon Kindle. Kindle is Amazon's e-book reader. So if you have Kindle, The Assassin is now available for only $3.99. I'm hoping Misconduct will be on Amazon soon though I haven't heard from them a date yet. I will pass along the info as soon as I get it.
Nov. 25-I have some advance copies of Escape and since I'm not sure if it'll be available before Christmas or not I'll be selling Escape and The Assassin together. That way if anyone wants to give it as Christmas gifts they'll be able to. You'll just have to send me an e-mail for payment and shipping info. I'll have more info on the front page soon.
Nov. 20-I've gotten 3 e-mails in the last couple days about Rise Of The Enforcer and I want to clear a few things up with it. ROTE is actually supposed to be a follow-up story to Misconduct. It has never been written, I don't have any completed pages, all I have is a general idea of the story. I was planning writing it then got caught up in writing Bounty Hunter, Deadlock, a yet-to-be-named detective story, Fury At Sundown, and finishing up with Escape which now I have to start promoting. All in all, it most likely will never get to the writing stage for ROTE. Could it change? Sure. Like I said, I have a general outline for the story. But once Misconduct is released, if people love it, and I get 100 e-mails asking me to write ROTE then I most likely would put the other projects to the side to write it. So I guess it really depends on how Misconduct is received.
Nov. 15-Escape is almost ready. Right now it's in the printing and distribution process. It's being listed in databases and I'm told it will be ready in 6-8 weeks. Then it will be available from Amazon, B&N, etc.
Nov. 11-Just wanted to let everyone know that Misconduct was submitted to Amazon a few days ago. Fury At Sundown will also be posted at www.ropeandwire.com which is a western oriented website. It has some stories, and old movies on there, it's a pretty cool site, check it out. I'm working on a few more short stories which will be posted on here or Amazon, or both. The idea is to give you guys more regular content between book releases. Ideally there would be one short story posted each month. I'm working on a series involving a private detective, but there could be a few more westerns as well.
Nov. 7-With Escape getting a book trailer I decided to make one for The Assassin as well. It's now up on the main page, as well as YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo Video, and Veoh. I like how it turned out. If you've got thoughts, let me hear them.
Nov. 6-Well it looks like Escape will have a book trailer. It's all done and I think it's pretty good. It will most likely be going up on YouTube, Yahoo, and all those other sites in the next couple weeks. Hopefully it draws some more interest towards the book. I've also added a short story called Fury At Sundown in the stories section. I wasn't planning on putting it up so soon, as I just announced it a couple days ago, but I got to thinking, why not? Hope you all enjoy it.
Nov. 4-Escape will be released towards the end of the month. Not sure of the exact date yet. For those interested the price will be $9.98, and the e-book version will be $4.00. Keep checking back for more information on an exact release date. It will be released on the usual avenues..Amazon, B&N, etc. I've received a couple e-mails asking about my short story, Misconduct. It has not been submitted to Amazon yet as I've been tweaking around with it some. It will most likely be submitted this week and will be available in December. I'm also working on another Western short story which will not be posted on Amazon. I will post it to the website and most likely one other website which I'll name later...but it will be free. Still working on Bounty Hunter, though it slowed up a little due to my involvement with trying to get Escape ready to go.
Oct. 10-Been working on Bounty Hunter a lot lately and it's coming along at a pretty good pace. That will more than likely be the next book out after Escape. Speaking of Escape, a portion of the profits will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Oct. 7-Well the Phillies got swept, can't say it's surprising but at least they got to the playoffs. Escape is now going to be published by Maverick Spur Publishing, a small publishing outfit. The cover is just about finished. I've finally found something I really like.
Sept. 30-Let's go Phillies!! It's been 14 years since they've been in the playoffs so it's about time they got back. With the way they hit they have as good a chance as anybody. Now for the bad news, I'm still having problems with the cover for Escape. The first person just didn't get back to me with anything. I've got someone else working on it, but the first few drafts I'm not really too crazy about. I guess we'll see how it goes. I'll let everyone know when I find something I like.
Sept. 13-Looks like I've finally found someone to do the cover for Escape. Still working out the details but I think I'll have a rough draft within the next week or so.
Sept. 10-3:10 To Yuma was just released this past weekend and took the top spot at the box office. That's great news for Western fans. We can only hope that it helps to reinvigorate the genre. The movie is getting good reviews and I hope to be able to catch it in the next couple weeks. I accidently saw a spoiler of the ending on-line but it won't dampen my enthusiasm for seeing it.
Sept. 9-It's football season! Unfortunately the Eagles punt returners blew the game today. They should still make the playoffs but they need to shore up the return game. Hockey is just around the corner too and I can't wait. I'm still looking for a cover artist for Escape. It's taken longer than I expected, but I'm actively looking for something that stands out.
Aug. 6-Day of the Assassin has hit #2 in the Western section of Amazon Shorts. I appreciate all the support. Escape is just about ready. The only thing I have to do is find someone for the cover art. I'm thinking that it'll probably be released in November. That could change on a variety of factors, but that seems like a fair target. I really doubt it'd be any sooner than that though.
June 28-Looks like Day of the Assassin is ready. It's not listed in the Shorts section of Amazon yet. There is a link to it on the page of The Assassin. It's just under the picture of the book near the top of the page. It's only .49 so give it a shot.
June 14-Amazon's telling me it'll be a few more weeks till Day of the Assassin will be ready. I haven't updated lately because I've been dealing with a lot of home issues. I should be back to writing regular updates now though. I've added a newsletter sign-up box on the main page for those who still want updates but don't check the site often. Whenever I have something new or interesting to report I'll put it in the newsletter. Before going, I'd like to thank everyone for their support. For those who've purchased the book...thank you very much. Keep on sending e-mails, I love reading them.
May6-My page on WritersWest is now up if anyone's interested in an autographed copy of the book. Day Of The Assassin will most likely be available in a couple weeks, so Amazon is telling me. I've completed a short story called Misconduct, about a hockey player who's only chance at the big time is by fighting. There will also be a follow up called Rise Of The Enforcer. Escape is just about finished. Right now it's in the hands of an editor. Hope you all are doing well. Don't forget mother's day is coming up!
May 3-I've gotten a few e-mails wondering whether I'd make The Assassin into an audio book. I have to say at this time I would doubt it. I really don't think there'd be much demand for it right now. Although I do think it's intriguing but I don't think now is the right time. Maybe after the next few books are released, if there's more interest, then it'd probably be more realistic than it is right now. I also encourage everyone to visit the Books For Soldiers website and help our troops. I've also had a few people asking about how to get autographed copies of the book. Well, in the next few days I will be listed on www.writerswest.com which only lists Westerns. All my books sold from there will be autographed copies.
Apr 27-I have a short story that should be up on Amazon soon called Day Of The Assassin. It involves Matt Beck, and portrays him in a little bit darker way than The Assassin does. After it comes out, feel free to let me know your thoughts on it. It will be on Amazon Shorts. For those who don't know, Amazon Shorts are short stories that are exclusive to Amazon and they only cost 49 cents. I've mostly been writing short stories the last couple weeks. I'll be getting back to working on the books soon.
Mar 29-I really didn't intend to not post anything for almost 4 weeks. I got sidetracked trying to promote the book. On the writing side of things, I have started several more stories. Yes, I cannot stick with just one story. I have to be writing several at one time, that's just how my mind works. I also have begun several short stories which when done will be on Amazon shorts. In my previous blog, I wrote about which story to write...well I decided to do all of them. I am writing a memoir-ish story about a baseball player's journey once he's drafted, a hockey player who's an enforcer(fighter for you non-hockey fans), a police story, and also a short story involing Matt Beck who's the main character of The Assassin. I will have even more details soon.
Mar 2--I'm back with my latest thoughts. Just been thinking about how to make the website better and more enjoyable for those that come here. I am giving some thought to writing a weekly serial that I'd either post on the site, or through a newsletter. Not sure on the details yet. What I'm initially thinking of is either a police/detective story or a baseball or hockey story. If you have any thoughts or preferences, send me an e-mail.
Feb 24--Well, I'm getting pretty excited about the release of The Assassin. Pretty nervous too. I know that Westerns aren't everybody's cup of tea, but I hope some will give it a chance anyway. Maybe they'll get hooked because of it! I've gotten some good feedback so far from people who've read the book or the excerpt from the first chapter that I've put on the site. The book is still on target to be released in April. I've got a lot of promoting to do before then, so any help really would be appreciated. I'm excited about donating some of the proceeds to St. Judes too, it's such a good cause. I'll be back in a few days with another blog.
